Content Marketing Strategist

The North-Shore Barrington Association of REALTORS® (NSBAR) seeks to hire a full-time Content Marketing Strategist to support our fast-paced Marketing Team.  Your efforts will help us boost our many ongoing projects and advance our long-term strategic goals of robust multi-media communications.  In this position, you will empower our Marketing Team by generating a regular stream of written and visual content to be deployed across NSBAR’s many media channels — enabling us to reach our Members with timely, targeted & relevant communications that lead to increased engagement.

  • You will be required to research and define desired target audiences (developing Member Personas), manage the content creation and publishing process, and routinely monitor Member and content metrics. 
  • Included among the channels you will be primarily responsible for are: NSBAR Social Media — (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter) — as well as our weekly e-News “what’s now and what’s next” and “NSBAR Education Update.”  Assistance with website content development and updates will also be a regular feature of this position, as nsbar.org sits at the center of the NSBAR communications eco-system.

NSBAR’s Content Marketing Strategist should be an expert storyteller!  Critical to success in this role are effective written and verbal communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, outstanding organizational capabilities and follow-through… as well as a dynamic “can do” spirit.

The NSBAR Content Marketing Strategist reports directly to our Director of Marketing & Communications.

Essential duties include:

  • Meeting with the Marketing Team to ideate and define content goals.
  • Researching content and Member trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
  • Developing content strategies to effectively reach the desired target audience and marketing goals.
  • Creating content for a variety of platforms including blogs, websites, and social media.
  • Proofreading and editing content before publishing.
  • Managing content calendars and ensuring that the content remains consistent across all platforms.
  • Tracking Member and content analytics and generating reports and presentations.
  • Maintaining schedules for a variety of marketing initiatives — including the Department’s editorial, project plan and ZOOM meeting calendars.
  • Working with marketing team to produce and manage brand identity & other marketing initiatives, collateral and assets — both physical and digital.

Requirements of the role:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or similar — with a portfolio of published work portfolio of published work.
  • Excellent time management skills — with high level attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and social abilities.
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla.
  • Good knowledge of content and layout design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Good knowledge of various content platforms such as social media, blogs, and print media.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field a plus.
  • Digital photography and video editing experience a plus.
  • Driver’s License and Insured Automobile required — non-commute, work-related mileage/parking expenses will be reimbursed.
