 Position summary


Maryland REALTORS® serves professional REALTOR® members from Maryland. We are responsible for developing public policy, legislative advocacy, political affairs, legal and regulatory services, education, professional standards, and communications programs. This position is part of the team that directs the education and training of members and provides internal support to other departments with ongoing projects.


Position Responsibilities:

Serves as a primary staff executive for Maryland REALTORS®’ GRI Advisory Group, Leadership Academy Advisory Group, DEI Advisory Group, and is the liaison to the Association’s public mediation service provider (OM Services). Duties include oversight of the administration of these programs.

  • Implement Leadership Academy annual program, schedule instructors, package materials and oversee the administration of the meals, monitoring, delivery, and evaluation of program.
  • Plan Academy Recognition Ceremony to include working with outside guest speaker, facility, award creation and vendors.

Serves as a primary staff executive for Maryland REALTORS®’ Grievance and Professional Standards Committees and is responsible for oversight of the Statewide Professional Standards Administration Program. Duties include development and delivery of annual training for these committees.

  • Responsible for providing the annual Professional Standards training. Provide evaluation feedback on Professional Standards seminars.
  • Work with Maryland REALTORS® Public Mediation Service Provider to monitor and evaluate the mediation program; and provide annual training to mediators. Oversee instructor management including hiring, training, evaluation, and, if necessary, termination.

Oversee a professional development curriculum, calendars and registration.

  • Submits all CE courses offered through Maryland REALTORS® to the Maryland Real Estate Commission for continuing education credit.
  • Monitors Education Section of the Maryland REALTORS® website to ensure relevant information.

Adheres to compliance with applicable rules and regulations in bylaws regarding board and committee matters.

Draft agendas, review minutes, and respond to inquiries regarding each meeting and event.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

Occasional daytime travel to local Boards/Association for delivery of course materials.

Attendance and staffing of Annual Maryland REALTORS® Conference.

  • Attendance at NAR’s Legislative Mid-Year Conference in Washington, DC and NAR’s annual conference.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent non-profit, association, or management experience.
  • Supervision experience required.
  • Experience in meeting/event planning and adult education.
  • Demonstrated competency in developing and managing departmental budget.
  • Self-directed, strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, and external partners.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills needed.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Highly resourceful team-player with the ability to be effective independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and response.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher.
  • Database experience and manipulation a plus.

Work Environment and Working Conditions: This job generally operates in a professional office environment with flexible work from home availability. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. On occasion this role may require spending time both in and out of the offices and travel to event sites and venues in the time leading up to the events and during the events themselves.
