Description

Greater Tampa REALTORS® is looking for a visionary Chief Executive Officer who is engaging, a great relationship builder, and possesses a high level of emotional intelligence. The successful candidate will be skilled at strategic thinking, with strong communication skills, and the ability to empower and appropriately evaluate staff. This position also requires someone who can lead change to create increased organizational effectiveness and be flexible to trends and changes in market conditions. Qualified candidates should be problem solvers who will follow through and take needed action.

The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and administer policies as approved by the Board and must have a thorough understanding of association governance.

  • Establishes association structure, operational policies and procedures, and is responsible for all matters relating to staff. Ensures that governing documents and policies are flexible enough to respond to changing market conditions.
  • Serves as the interface between the National Association of REALTORS®, Florida REALTORS®, and My Florida Regional MLS, INC. D/B/A STELLAR MLS. Remains up to date with national, state and MLS requirements and communicates as needed to the board and keeps staff up to date.
  • Participates in strategic planning and implements Board approved plan. Develops and implements programs and events in line with the strategic plan.
  • Ensures strong financial position and revenues sources; develops comprehensive budget for Board approval. Ensures financial reserves are maintained with a solid investment policy. Maintains office with up-to-date office equipment and technology resources.
  • Manages association staff along with senior management team. Keeps up to date on employment related regulations applicable to staff and ensures compliance.
  • Develops and manages a high level of political action activities, including fundraising efforts and candidate development.
  • Ensures market-based staff compensation and provides appropriate professional development for staff.
  • Communicates internally and externally through a variety of resources information relevant to members.
  • Develops and maintains new member recruitment and retention programs along with orientation.
  • Develops, offers and promotes access to required and optional education programs based on member needs and future trends.
  • Positions networking and social opportunities to enhance members’ career success and future needs.
  • Serves as visionary leader for the association and delegates day to day operations to other staff. Develops and maintains an environment in which staff takes initiative and can make decisions.
  • Recruits, develops and nurtures volunteer leaders according to a comprehensive leadership development plan; maintains organizational culture that builds strong partnerships between staff and volunteers.
  • Forges effective relationships with local government leaders and legislators, influential members/industry leaders, and all other stakeholders.
  • Maintains a politically aware organization culture.

The Tampa Bay area provides the amenities of both an urban and laid-back beach lifestyle. The area includes professional sports teams, such as the Buccaneers, Rays, and Lightning. The area also includes museums, and a wide variety of entertainment and dining options. The Tampa Bay area is home to a number of diverse communities. There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, beaches, kayaking, fishing, boating, as well as a dog beach and park.

U.S. News has consistently ranked the Tampa Bay area as one of the best places to live based of quality of life and desirability. The cost of living in the area is on par with the national average, and Florida has no state income tax.
