Description

This position reports to the current president and treasurer of the Board of Directors as the executive officer. This position administers and oversees the entire operation of this non-profit association with total membership of approximately 1,700 composed of licensed real estate agents and affiliate members. This position also oversees the operation of the board store.

The executive officer:

  • Supervises and conducts annual reviews of all employees.
  • Enforces bylaws, rules and regulations
  • Oversees committee work and educational programs
  • Oversees the administration of member dues billing and collection annually.
  • Oversees the management, maintenance and ensure that the physical assets and other property of the board are appropriately safeguarded and administered. (Includes board office building and equipment.)
  • Handles all correspondence between GPBR – MAR – NAR.
  • Administers all Professional Standards matters including Grievance Committee meetings, arbitration and ethics Hearings. Handles pre- and post-hearing correspondence between Professional Standards committees, complainants and respondents and serves as the recording secretary during hearings of Professional Standards Committee.
  • Oversees, promotes and assists members in all community charitable events
  • Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors
  • Attends meetings and member education programs
  • Attends state director meetings
  • Coordinates local participation and attend Maine Association of REALTORS® annual convention.
  • Ex-officio member of all committees (except Grievance & Professional Standards).

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of management experience and demonstrated ability to work with a leadership team that changes annually. Candidates should understand priorities, stay on track, be excellent problem solvers, and know how to motivate a team. Additionally, candidates should be excellent at building and fostering relationships and resolving conflict. Previous experience in a non-profit in a management capacity and a bachelor’s degree preferred.

The area culture is unassuming—suits to sweats—and is surrounded by lakes, mountains, and the ocean. Portland is a big city in a small city environment, with lots of offer including great parks, museums, with arts and culture. The area boasts of “must do fairs and festivals” as well as plenty of outdoor activities.
