Description

The Yuma Association is looking for an innovative Association Executive to manage their 700 plus member association and MLS. The Association Executive is responsible for all facets of the association’s operation to fulfill the policies, goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors. Responsible for management of staff; maintaining operating systems for multiple listing service, membership, financial management, governance, and member benefits.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manages the operations of the association based on the parameters set by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure adherence to core standards set by the National Association of REALTORS and identify and work with the Board to mitigate risk.
  • Updates governing documents and policies on a routine basis, to match the association's mission and strategic plan.
  • Maintain operating systems for multiple listing service.
  • Oversee all financial management of the association to ensure reliable revenue sources to operate the association at optimum and future levels, with research and development funds in place for new initiatives.
  • Develops a comprehensive budget with volunteer and approval.
  • Plans and manages, with volunteers, networking, and social opportunities to enhance members' career success and future needs.
  • Promote association and communicate with our membership, and at the state and national levels.
  • Manages key programs and delegates management functions to other members of management and clerical functions to support staff.
  • Helps identify and recruit volunteer leaders; collaborates with volunteer leaders to forge strong partnerships. Collaborates with local, state, and national associations; participates in state and national meetings.
  • Works with a CPA firm and an attorney to support association operations and alert leadership to new and emerging issues.
  • Participates with volunteer leaders in effective and synergistic relationships with local government leaders and legislators; service providers, vendors, consultants, and contractors; influential and market-share members/industry leaders and allied real estate groups; media and community groups.
  • Provides effective government advocacy to further the association's mission, either directly or as an active participant with other levels of the REALTOR family.
  • Supervise, manage, and develop staff to achieve organizational objectives and meet member needs.
  • Manages property facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.
  • Excellent managerial skills.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology and database systems.
  • Knowledge of real estate industry and/or MLS operations preferred.
  • Travel to industry related meetings 4 weeks of the year.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required; preferably working in associations or real estate industry.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
  • Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
